A common error – yet one that can easily scratch or damage aluminium rims above all. Cleaning is always the top priority for any kind of damage to rims. Ideally, the rims are removed and all areas that must not be touched by the sandpaper are taped.
After this, an electric sander is used to sand the rims down until they are smooth once again and the damaged area has been repaired.
Following a subsequent clean and polish, the rim is degreased and taped. It will then be repainted with each work step repeated three to four times in order to ensure maximum durability for the coat. A wide range of aluminium paints are available to guarantee optimal colour precision.
